“Living Knowledge sets out the British Library’s vision for its future development as it looks ahead to 2023, the year of its 50th anniversary as the national library of the United Kingdom”.
The digitization of culture posed significant question to how cultural institutions would consider cultural and intellectual heritage. In this perspective for it’s 50th anniversary the British Library instigated the project “Living Knowledge”. This project stresses to shed light on the prominent role of cultural institutions in fostering the access to knowledge, within the UK but also internationally. Furthermore, it describes a Library that will have transformed itself in response to the profound changes in technology, research and information services.
